Second division, day 10
Xerez held on to top
spot in the table despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Valladolid on
Sunday lunchtime. The Andalusians are only one point clear though of
Recreativo, who beat promotion rivals Elche 2-0 later in the day.
Top scorer Uche got both goals to take Marcelino's side into second place,
above Murcia on goal average. Albacete also gave their promotion hopes a
boost with a 1-0 win against Lleida, Aranda getting the goal to take the
Manchegans up to midtable and send the Catalans further down in to the
relegation spots.
Lleida are now only one
place above bottom club Castellón, who sacked manager
Martín Delgado after drawing 0-0 at home to Lorca. Real Madrid
Castilla climbed out of the relegation spots though after a 2-0 win against
Poli Ejido, Roberto Soldado coming back from first team duty to score
both the goals and give his side their first win at their new stadium in
Valdebebas. Racing Ferrol are also clear of the bottom four after a 0-1
victory at Málaga B, and Poli Ejido and Málaga B replace
the two teams in the drop zone. Numancia are only a point above them
though after losing 1-2 to ten man Eibar, who overtake them in the
table. (30.10.05)
Nàstic came
from behind to beat leaders Real Murcia 3-1, putting an end to their
eight game unbeaten record and taking the Catalans away from the danger zone.
Ismael, Carlos Merino and Diego Torres gor the goals after Julio Alvarez had
given the visitors the lead. Hércules moved up to third after a
3-2 win over Sporting Gijón. Biagini gave the visitors the lead
twice, but the Alicante based side came back to win with a strike from
Moisés. Promotion hopefuls Tenerife and Levante were both
beaten heavily though, the former losing 3-0 at Ciudad Murcia and the
latter getting hammered 5-1 by Almería. (29.10.05)
