Second division, day 4
Levante moved a point
clear at the top of the table after a 0-0 draw at Real Murcia in the
last game of the weekend, and with only four games gone they are the only
unbeaten side in the second division. Seven teams are tied for fourth place
behind Ciudad and Tenerife, including Lleida, who also drew 0-0 at
Racing Ferrol, Recreativo, who beat Valladolid 2-0 earlier
in the day, and Numancia and Xerez, who cancelled each other out
in a 1-1 draw.
After the last three weeks
of high scoring things are back to normal, with only sixteen goals in the
eleven games. Only four sides managed more than one goal, including
Elche who beat Poli Ejido 2-0. A second half Pacheco penalty
helped Albacete to a 1-0 win over Lorca, taking them out of the
relegation spots, and there was the same result in Tarragona, where
Nàstic beat Eibar. (18.09.05)
Ciudad Murcia's stay
at the top of the table was short lived as the recently formed side fell to a
1-0 defeat at Almería. Soriano scored the only goal in the second
half to leave Levante in first position before they had even played their
match. Tenerife moved up into the top three, level with Ciudad on
points, after coming from behind to beat Real Madrid Castilla 1-2 with
strikes from Toni Moral and Maikel. The win takes them above Sporting
Gijón, who lost 1-0 at Málaga B, the Asturians first
defeat of the season and their opponents first victory. Elsewhere two of the
newly promoted sides met, Hércules running out 1-2 winners to
leave their hosts Castellón firmly anchored at the bottom of the
table. (17.09.05) |
