Spain beat Canada 2-1 in a warm up for next Wednesday's World Cup qualifier. Luis Aragonés used the occasion to give a run out to his second choice players but they failed to impress, an early headed goal by Tamudo the only difference between the two sides at the break. The coach changed his midfield and attack in the second half, but even so they could only add one more to their scoreline through Morientes, and Grande pulled one back for the North Americans before the final whistle.
