Copa del Rey, first round
With the smaller clubs
threatening legal action and a possible boycott after the late changes, the
league's second division clubs played out a watered down first round. Goals
from Aranda and Gato took Albacete through against Poli Ejido, and league
leaders Numancia won on penalties at Almería after the game ended
without goals. Levante are out though after a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Eibar,
and Tenerife and Valladolid will also not be taking part any further after
losing to Real Murcia and Xerez respectively. The ten winning sides will go
through to a second round with the regional teams who qualified from the
preliminary stage. (31.08.05) |
