New season's fixtures

The fixtures for the new season were drawn today. Newly promoted Alavés and Cádiz have difficult starts at home to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, and Celta also have a home game against Málaga in their return to the top flight. The most interesting fixture of the first day though is the Basque derby between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. The big derby games between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on days 12 and 31, with the first match at the Bernabeu stadium. (08.07.05)
