1-0. 04. Ribery. Following up after Molina beat out long free kick from Taiwo.
1-1. 08. Andrade. Fired ball back into net after keeper patted away long shot.
2-1. 65. Meite. Climbed on shoulders of Romero to head loose ball past Molina.
3-1. 73. Niang. Forced ball in on rebound after Molina blocked cross from right.
4-1. 88. Niang. Curled shot past keeper after defence failed to clear cross.
5-1. 90. Oruma. Cut in from right of area and hit angled shot into far corner.

Deportivo La Coruña lost their Intertoto Cup final to Olympique Marseille by 5-1, and as a result failed to qualify for this season's UEFA Cup. The Galicians took a two goal lead into the game from the first leg, and although they fell behind to an early strike from Ribery, Andrade levelled the scores in the eighth minute with an important away goal. Soon afterwards Duscher and Ribery were sent off after clashing, but the Galicians held on until midway through the second half when Meite restored the lead for the French side, Russian referee Nikolai Ivanov waving away Depor's protests that the player had climbed all over Romero to head the ball past Molina.

Five minutes later though the referee made an even bigger mistake when he sent off Capdevila after showing him a second yellow card for a foul which was actually committed by Toro Acuña, and Depor were left with nine men. The French side still needed two goals to go through, but Niang got a lucky break when the ball bounced off him and in to the net at point blank range after Molina failed to collect a cross, and then scored his second of the night after another defensive mistake. Depor were beaten, and Oruma added a fifth goal in the last minute to complete the rout.
