Sevilla had little
difficulty wrapping up their tie against Nacional, running out 1-2 winners in
the island of Madeira to add to their first leg win. The Andalusians were
missing the injured Baptista, but Jesuli filled in well in a central role and
combined effectively with sole striker Darío Silva. The two combined ten
minutes before the interval for Jesuli to fire in a shot off the crossbar from
left of goal and give his side a three goal lead overall, putting he game
beyond the reach of their opponents.
Silva could have scored
earlier on in if had been able to beat Hilario, but the Portuguese league side
were stunned into action by Jesuli's strike, albeit without causing too many
problems for Esteban. They did equalise though a quarter of an hour from the
end when Adriano got on the end of Serginho Baiano's long free kick to head
high in to the net, but Renato responded soon afterwards with a second goal for
the visitors after good work by Antoñito down the right wing.
