Generelo. Took return pass from Villa and beat keeper from edge of area.
A late strike by substitute
Generelo was enough to give Zaragoza a 1-0 victory over Sigma Olomouc in their
100th game in Europe. Víctor Muñoz put out a strong side, but
they were unable to break through against a packed defence which had come to
the Romareda stadium with the intention of not letting in goal. The best
chances in the first half fell to Drulic, the first a long shot which Vaniak
turned away for a corner, and the second after Soriano headed on a corner, his
shot sailing over the bar. The Czech side only troubled Luis García once
or twice on the counter-attack, but they seemed to be holding on until Generelo
took a return pass from David Villa and fired a low shot past the keeper. A
good result in the end, and the clean sheet gives them an edge for the second
leg in a fortnight's time. |
