Spain are on track for a
place in the European finals after beating Portugal 2-0 in their second
qualifying group game. Both goals were scored by Atlético Madrid striker
David Rodríguez, the first shortly before the break after Markel set him
up, and the second on the hour mark after good work by David Silva. With France
only beating Israel 1-0 in the other group match, Ginés
Meléndez's side have a better goal difference over their rivals and only
need to draw their last game against them to reach the final stage, which takes
place in Northern Ireland this summer. |
