Mediterranean Games
With many of Spain's top
youngsters taking part in the Youth World Cup, the managers took advantage to
give a run out to some lesser known players in their under 22 squad for the
Mediterranean Games, which this year are taking place in and around
Almería. Spain started off their campaign against Malta,
who they had some problems with before eventually running out 2-0 winners with
late goals from Sevilla's Kepa and Atlético Madrid's Arizmendi. And in
their second and final group match, Juan Santiesteban's side drew 1-1 against
Turkey, Sevilla's Antonio Puerta getting the goal which ensures them a
place in the quarter finals. (25.06.05) |
