Transfer rumours
The last minute rush is on
as next week's transfer deadline approaches. Barcelona have finally found the
midfielder and striker they wanted, veteran Albertini joining on a six month
contract and Maxi López signing for the next five years. Atlético
Madrid gave up the fight for Deivid and signed Richard Nuñez instead to
fill the gap left by Musampa and Paunovic, and Málaga have tied up
Fernando Baiano, letting Leko go to make room.
Mallorca are the first
division side with most winter signings though, and Héctor Cúper
is adding two South American players to his squad, Melo and Marino (the latter
pending confirmation). Deportivo could be a late player in the market as well,
with Coloccini and Lucho González both close to agreeing terms and
Pandiani possibly on his way to the UK.
Elsewhere Depor's Galician
neighbours Celta have finally managed to place unsettled keeper Cavallero, who
strengthens Levante's squad, and could sign Mallorca's Perera if Jandro moves
on. And there were two changes on the managerial front since our last report,
Barrios replacing Pepe Moré at Tenerife and Argibay coming in for Gay at
Pontevedra. (28.01.05) |
