Second
division, day 13
Eibar extended their
lead at the top of the table to five points after beating their Basque rivals
Alavés 0-2 on Sunday lunchtime. The turning point came when
Téllez was sent off for the locals with only twenty minutes gone, and
Llorente got both goals after the break to take his tally for the season to
eleven. The result leaves Alavés out of the top three, level with two
sides including Elche, who drew 2-2 at Celta. Yosu Uribe's team
were two up at half time with a penalty and another goal from Nano, but
Jonathan and Juan Sánchez saved a point for the Galicians after the
restart.
It was a weekend for draws
in the second division, with seven of the eleven games ending all square.
Racing Ferrol are level with Alavés and Elche after their match
with Córdoba ended without goals, a good result for visiting
manager Crispi, who took over as the Andalusian side's third manager this week.
A 0-0 draw as well between Gimnastic Tarragona and Pontevedra,
and Nàstic's neighbours Terrassa drew 2-2 at
Almería, coming from behind twice to save a point. And
Sporting Gijón and Ciudad Murcia also ended all square at
2-2, Arturo saving a point for the Asturians with two late goals.
Valladolid took
advantage to move up the table to tenth, only three points away from the
promotion spots, after beating Real Murcia 0-1. Sousa got the only goal
on the half hour mark with a magnificent shot from outside of the area to leave
Manolo Preciado's side back down in next to bottom spot. Salamanca
climbed away from the danger zone though with a 1-3 win against
Málaga B, Brit scoring twice in the second half to take his side
above their opponents in the table. (21.11.04)
Cádiz moved up
to second in the league pending Sunday's results after a 3-0 win over Poli
Ejido. Pavoni put the Andalusians ahead in the fifth minute following a
corner, and goals from Navarrete and De Gomar after the break wrapped things
up. Xerez held on to third spot after drawing 1-1 at Lleida, Dani
Pendín equalising on the stroke of half time just two minutes after
Nakor had put the Catalans ahead from the penalty spot. And draw specialists
Recreativo and Tenerife clocked up another point each after their
match finished without goals. (20.11.04) |
