Second
division, day 12
Surprise leaders
Eibar opened up a four point gap at the top of the table after a 0-3 win
over second placed Xerez on Sunday lunchtime. The league's top scorer
Llorente got a goal in each half, and Moisés wrapped things up later on.
Alavés took advantage to move up level with Xerez on points after
a 1-1 draw at Málaga B. Abel opened the scoring for the locals
with a free kick after visiting keeper Bonano had saved an earlier penalty, but
Epitié made it all square after the break.
Only two points separate
eight sides though in what is proving to be another close league. Elche
moved up to within a point of the promotion spots after a 1-0 win over Real
Murcia, Nino getting the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in
injury time. And they are level with Racing Ferrol, who picked up a
valuable point in a 0-0 draw at Poli Ejido, and with
Cádiz, who recorded a comfortable 1-3 victory at
Salamanca.
Valladolid beat
Recreativo 1-0 to make it five games in a row without defeat, Hornos
getting the goal early on. And Tenerife defeated Sporting
Gijón by the same score, a late strike by Jesús
Vázquez enough to give them the three points. Almería won
0-2 at Pontevedra to send the Galicians further down into the relegation
zone, and they drop below Ciudad Murcia, who were held to a 1-1 draw by
Nàstic. (14.11.04)
Only two matches in the
second division on Saturday, with Celta climbing back up the table to
sixth after Contreras gave them a 0-1 win over bottom club
Córdoba. Terrassa got their revenge for the midweek cup
defeat against Lleida, beating their fellow Catalans thanks to three
goals in the last quarter of an hour. (13.11.04) |
