Under 21
international
Spain 2 -
Belgium 2
Spain's under 21 side
struggled against Belgium in their second Euro 2006 qualifying match in
Cantabria, and in the end were fortunate to come away with a point. It was an
untidy and at times ugly game, with all four goals coming in the second half.
The Belgians took the lead on the hour mark when De Cuelaer beat Moya, but only
three minutes later Fábregas equalised from a quickly taken free kick
which caught the defence off guard. Visiting keeper Proto was sent off for
protesting the goal, but a quarter of an hour later his side went back in front
after a mistake by Spanish keeper Moyà. Cazorla saved the day though
with a second equaliser, leaving both sides on four points, two behind leaders
Serbia. (08.10.04) |
