Albrechtsen. Got on the end of curled cross to steer header past keeper.
Mallorca won through to the
next round of the competition after beating Copenhagen 3-2 on aggregate,
although they made it hard on themselves at the end when the Danes fought back.
Luis Aragonés put out a reserve side after their away win in Denmark,
with Jesús Parera and Bruggink up front and Ligüera playing in the
hole just behind them. But they struggled to find their form and keeper Miki
had to be at his best to keep out the visiting forwards, in particular making
one first class save from Noerregard before the break.
Aragonés decided to
ring the changes early in the second half, bringing on Nagore and Campano for
youngster Raúl Martín and for a disappoiniting Ligüera. And
it was Campano who put the fans' minds at rest heading home Nagore's cross a
quarter of an hour later. With a 1-2 lead from the first leg that should have
been that, but with three minutes to go central defender Albrechtsen (the man
who had scored at both ends in the first leg) popped up again to steer a header
past Miki. And it took another great save from the reserve keeper in the last
minute to stop the Danes from squaring the tie. Mallorca's name will go into
the hat for the third round draw, but only just. |
