Spain qualified for the European finals after beating Hungary 3-0 in their last group match. The two sides came in to the game level in all respects after their first two ties, but Armando Ufarte's side dominated the opening minutes and took the lead on the half hour mark when Valencia's David Silva bent a free kick round the defensive wall to find the bottom corner of the net. Six minutes later Víctor made it two when he got on the end of Silva's cross to head past Kemenes, and Hungary were reduced to ten men before the break when Dancs picked up a second bookable offence. Juan Tomás got a third goal after the break to wrap things up and take his side through to the eight-team finals, which will take place in Switzerland in July. (24.05.04)
