Second
division, week 33
Numancia increased
their lead at the top of the second division to four points after beating
Ciudad Murcia 0-2, Antonio and Xisco getting the goals late in the
second half. Second placed Levante were beaten 3-2 earlier in the day by
Alavés, who are now just two points behind their opponents. Edu
Alonso got two of the goals and made the third for the Vitoria based side.
Getafe lost ground on the leaders after they were held to a 0-0 draw by
Xerez, and Recreativo moved up to sixth place after a 3-1 win
over Salamanca, Uche scoring the first two goals.
Las Palmas are in
deeper trouble after they lost 2-0 to bottom club Algeciras, their
fourth manager of the season Henri Stambouli watching from the stands.
Málaga B and Poli Ejido did themselves no favours with a
0-0 draw, and Ejido's neighbours Almería are also closer to the
relegation spots after they were beaten 0-2 by Terrassa. (18.04.04)
Sporting Gijón
consolidated third place in the table after beating struggling Rayo
Vallecano 3-1. Miguel scored twice to give them victory and send their
opponents back down into the relegation zone. Tenerife meanwhile moved
clear of the bottom four, Keko's two goals enough to beat Elche 2-1 and
take them above four teams, including Leganés who drew 1-1 at
Eibar. Elsewhere Cádiz lost more ground on the leaders
after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Córdoba.
