Spain 6 -
Hungary 1
Spain's under 17 side
stormed through to the European finals with a resounding victory over
Hungary. Vying with Russia for top spot in their group, Juan
Santiestaban's side needed a big win to ensure their passage to France in May.
But by half time it was not looking good, Pepe's goal being cancelled out by a
strike by Rezes just before the break. However Real Madrid forward Javi
García came on as substitute and scored twice n the first ten minutes
after the restart, and Arsenal's Cesc added a fourth from the penalty spot
three minutes later. And Carmona and Capel got two more later on to round off
an excellent night for the Spaniards. (31.03.04) |
