Under 21
European qualifier
Sweden 2
- Spain 0
Spain's under 21 side
have a difficult task ahead of them after falling to a 2-0 defeat in the first
leg of their Euro 2004 qualifier in Sweden. The youngsters fell behind
when Farnerud beat Víctor Valdés after the break, but had a
chance to draw level when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on
Rubén Castro. However Villa put his kick over the bar, and with the game
in injury time Kallström scored a second goal for the Scandinavians. The
second leg takes place in Extremadura next Wednesday, with the winners going
into next spring's European championships. (15.11.03) |
