Cádiz extended their
lead at the top of the table to three points after an injury time 1-0 win over
Rayo Vallecano on Sunday lunchtime. Elsewhere though it was draws all round
once again, making it no less than nine of the weekend's eleven games ending
all square. There were two more 0-0 scorelines in the games between Ciudad de
Murcia and Levante, and between Málaga B and Algeciras, and 1-1 results
between Tenerife and Salamanca, and Sporting Gijon and Córdoba.

Terrassa's new manager
Enrique Martín got off to the best possible start with a 2-3 win at
Elche which takes them off the bottom of the table. All the other games on
Saturday night ended in draws, with Almería holding on to their unbeaten
record with a last minute 2-2 scoreline against Recreativo. Draw specialists
Leganés and Xerez made it five in a row with 0-0 results against Poli
Ejido and Numancia respectively, the same score as the match between Getafe and
Alavés, where the visitors missed a penalty. A late goal from top scorer
Rubén saved a 1-1 draw for Las Palmas at Eibar. (27.09.03)
