Transfer
news
The rush is now over and
squads have been decided, and clubs are now only allowed to sign new players in
the case of long term term injuries or if the player is unemployed. The
transfer window will open again at the end of December, and we will continue to
report any rumours about possible signings in the winter, or any other changes
in the meantime (normally managerial). There is a bit of tidying up to do since
our last report as one or two late facts did escape our notice. Djalminha for
example has been given a shirt number at Deportivo, although he is not expected
to play and the club are trying to move him on. Iván Ania, Basavilbaso
and Bermudo (Tenerife) and Ruano (Málaga) have also been given team
numbers, and Iniesta was finally included in the 25 man squad at Barcelona
rather than being given a B team number. Real Madrid didn't get the defender
they wanted, but Quieroz says they may well be looking to sign someone this
winter. Only a few weeks to go and it starts all over again..... (06.09.03)
