Pre-season fixtures

Another round of matches this week, with a fortnight still to go to kick off. Many leagues in Europe have started already, and Celta, Deportivo and Villarreal were already in action in their respective European competitions. The biggest friendly tournament of the week was in Cádiz, where Atlético Madrid won the Ramón de Carranza trophy for the eighth time after beating Málaga on penalties. Real Madrid and Barcelona both returned to Spain after their international tours, and Real Sociedad were the last side to start off their pre-season round of matches with fixtures against Udinese and Al Alhy.
