Málaga were held to a
score-less draw in Sarajevo's Olympic stadium by local side Zeljeznicar.
Playing their first ever season in Europe, Joaquín Peiró put out
his strongest team, with Darío Silva and Dely Valdés together
again up front. However the side looked nervous, and they hardly managed a shot
at goal throughout the match. The Bosniansthemselves though did not make much
impact, and their most dangerous moment in the first half came from the boots
of a Málaga player Valcarce, who almost put through his own net.
Peiró brought on Leko
after the break and things improved for the visitors. However Zeljeznicar felt
themselves unlucky not to take the lead ten minutes from the end when Kajtaz
hit the post with Contreras beaten, and Contreras had to save from Radonja soon
afterwards. Even so a last minute effort from Darío Silva could have won
it for the Spaniards. |
