European championship
Spain lost the final to
hosts Portugal 2-1, although they still qualify for this summer's World Cup in
Finland as runners up. Sousa volleyed the hosts in front midway through the
first half, and Raúl Llorente cleared a Joao Pablo lob off the line on
the stroke of half time which would have made it two. A minute after the
restart David Rodríguez gave his side hope, heading Sisinio's cross past
Felgueiras for his sixth goal of the tournament, but Portugal hit the winner
five minutes later when a free kick from Sousa caught keeper Adán off
his line. (17.05.03) |
