Second
division, day 32
Albacete moved to the
top of the table and extended their unbeaten run to 15 games after a 0-2 win
over Córdoba. Jandro scored both goals in a three minute period
in the second half. Murcia drop to second after they were held to a 0-0
draw by Sporting Gijon, but still stay three points clear of
Zaragoza, who beat Eibar 2-0 with strikes from Galletti and
Yordi.
Levante kept up the
pressure on the top three though after a 4-0 victory over
Leganés, and they are still only a point behind the promotion
spots. Leganés drop into the bottom four as a result. Levante's win
keeps them five points ahead of Xerez, who themselves have gone nine
games without a loss after an impressive 1-3 win at Tenerife. The Canary
Islanders are now virtually out of the promotion race, as are their neighbours
Las Palmas, who were beaten 1-0 by struggling Almería on
Saturday.
Talking of good runs,
Compostela's fifteen points from their last six games have taken them up
to ninth in the table. They beat Numancia 1-0 this weekend to move above
Poli Ejido, who themselves are heading the other way after their fourth
defeat in a row, this time 2-0 at Salamanca. Getafe are a point
behind the Andalucians after they won 2-1 against Terrassa.
The bottom two sides Oviedo
and Racing Ferrol both won their respective games to keep alive their hopes of
survival. Oviedo's 2-1 win over relegation rivals Badajoz was
only their second of the season in their Nuevo Tartiere stadium, and takes them
to within a point of the Extremadurian side . Ferrol beat Elche
1-0 to move above Badajoz on goal difference, although both are still four
points away from the team above them, Leganés. (20.04.03)
