Euro 2004
qualifier
Spain 3 -
Armenia 0
Three goals in the second
half were enough for Spain to see off a battling Armenia, who
held their own until well into the second half of the match. It was not until
Vicente came on early in the second half that Iñaki Séz's side
finally made the break through, Diego Tristán turning the young winger's
cross past Berezovsky in the Armenia goal. Five minutes later Iván
Helguera rose to head home Vicente's corner on the near post, and Spain were
home and dry. Joaquín added a third goal in injury time from
Raúl's pass, his first for his country, for what was in the end a
flattering result. With half the qualifying round over, Spain are now four
points clear at the top of group six. (02.04.03) |
