Second
division, day 20
Murcia moved to the
top of the table after beating Racing Ferrol 0-3, extending their
unbeaten run in the league to eight games. They are now a point above
Zaragoza, who were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Poli Ejido,
their fourth draw in a row. Levante stay third despite losing 3-1 to
Compostela, although they were out of the promotion spots for ten
minutes or so when Albacete took the lead against Almería.
In the end though that match ended 1-1, leaving the Manchegans in fourth place.
As usual it was a low scoring weekend, with only 15 goals in the eleven games.
Terrassa and Sporting Gijon drew 0-0, but the other six games
ended with single goal victories, the most notable of which was Oviedo's
first home win in ten months against Córdoba. Xerez won
0-1 at Badajoz to take them ahead of the pack to fifth, but otherwise
only five points separate sixth placed Elche from twentieth placed Badajoz.
