Second
division, day 18
Leaders Zaragoza
played for the first time in their history on Sunday lunchtime, but it was not
a successful exercise as they held to a 2-2 draw by Leganés.
Yordi gave them the lead from the penalty spot in the first half, but Miguel
Angel scored twice in the last ten minutes before Yordi saved a point with a
second penalty in injury time. Two late goals in three minutes from
Jesús Perera gave Albacete a 1-2 victory at Getafe, also
at midday on Sunday. Craioveanu had given the lead to the Madrid based side
earlier in the half. The Manchegans join Murcia and Levante three points behind
the leaders, although they stay in fourth position on goal difference.
Levante took a point in a 0-0 draw at Tenerife to stay in third
place, the Canary Islanders' thirteenth draw of the season. A similar scoreline
between Compostela and Salamanca, with more protests from the
home side players before the game against their club president for failing to
pay them all season. It was Salamanca's fourth scoreless draw in a row.
Xerez drop out of the title race after losing 1-0 at Eibar,
Miguel getting the only goal in the last minute, and Badajoz and
Numancia stay down in the bottom four after drawing 1-1 in their match.

Murcia moved up a
place to second pending Sunday's games with an impressive 6-1 win over Las
Palmas, which included a second half hat-trick from David Karanka.
Elche kept up their unbeaten away record with a 1-1 draw at
Terrassa, and Córdoba held on at Racing Ferrol to
draw 0-0 and take a point which lifts them off the bottom of the table. That
left Oviedo back in last place after they were beaten 0-3 by Poli
Ejido, who move up close to the promotion spots, level with local rivals
Almería who beat Oviedo's neighbours Sporting Gijon 1-0.
