Three goals in the second
half gave Zaragoza a comfortable lead for the second leg in Denmark next week.
Txetxu Rojo gave several players a start for the first time this season,
including Cuartero, Sundgren, Aragón, Corona and Garitano. They started
nervously though, losing Acuña to injury early on and missing several
scoring chances as the new line up failed to gel. Silkeborg were prepared to
defend and look for a goal on the counterattack, and they gave Láinez
more than one scare with their rapid breaks from defence.
Rojo's half time pep talk
appeared to work though, and with Galletti on the park they scored within two
minutes of the kick off, Yordi producing a spectacular header from Garitano's
cross. A few minutes later Juanele added a second with a shot which bounced
just over the line off the crossbar, the linesman convincing Turkish referee
Metin Tokat that the goal was valid. That sunk the Danish side, and José
Ignacio finished things off with a header near the end. |
