UEFA awards for the best players of the last season

Reflecting the Spanish clubs' success in Europe last season, three players from the Liga received awards. They were Raúl (best forward), Mendieta (best midfielder) and Ayala (best defender). Raúl was also nominated for the best player, Cañizares for the best goalkeeper, and Del Bosque for the best manager, although they did not win. (23.08.01)
