Spain took third place in
the competition with a high scoring victory over Yugoslavia. Barcelona striker
Jorge Perona notched his second hat-trick in successive games to finish the
tournament as top scorer with eight goals in four matches. Perona scored
Spain's second in the twentieth minute after Bihorac had equalised Arteta's
first minute goal, and added two more in the second half. Espanyol's Jacinto
also scored a goal in each half to complete the rout, and Bihorac got his and
Yugoslavia's second soon after the break. Poland won the final 3-1 against the
Czech Republic in what will be the last European under 18 tournament.
