Ratina stadium, Finland. A
late goal by substitute Perona threw Spain a lifeline in the second game of the
championship. Spain had the majority of chances but were unable to score until
three minutes from time when the Barcelona forward latched on to a pass from
Mallorca's Roberto to finally beat Sorensen in the Danish goal. With Poland and
Belgium drawing to share top spot on four points, everything now rests on the
final day. Spain have three points, and they now have to beat Belgium and hope
that Poland draw or lose to Denmark on Thursday to make the final. (24.07.01)
