Clubs in lower divisions
continue with financial difficulties. Mérida's principal creditors
(other than their players) are South American clubs who are owed money for
transfers. The club is trying to reschedule debts with them arguing that if not
they will be forced to liquidate, but they are not having much success,
particularly with Brazilian club Madureira. The shareholders of Logroñes
have sold out to the liquidator and they are proposing firing at least 35 of
their 41 employees, and Deportivo Manchego have ceased to exist.
